Who says you need to soak chana (black chickpeas) overnight? Here’s a super-handy hack for when you're short on time but still craving something healthy, filling, and chatpata.

All you need is ice, a pressure cooker, and a few easily available spices.

Start by adding a big chunk of ice to your pressure cooker—yes, ice! Then toss in unsoaked chana, a little salt, and enough water. Pressure cook this for about 25 to 30 minutes. You’ll get perfectly cooked chana without the hassle of overnight soaking.

Don’t drain that cooking water—it's packed with flavor. Mix it in a bowl with tamarind (imli) puree and add Chukde's dhania powder, haldi powder, red chilli powder, and the game-changer—Chukde Chana Masala. Stir it well.

In a pan, heat some mustard oil, add ginger-garlic paste, and cook it a bit. Add your cooked chana and spice mix and let it simmer on low heat so the flavors soak in.

Once it cools down, mix in chopped boiled potatoes, onion, tomato, cucumber, lemon juice, black salt, chaat masala, and lots of fresh coriander leaves. That’s it!

You’ve just made a bowl of delicious, protein-rich Chana Chaat—perfect as a snack or a light meal.

Why Use Chukde Spices?

Because when it comes to flavor, quality matters. Chukde’s spices are sourced responsibly and processed hygienically. Their Chana Masala adds that bold, desi punch to any recipe. Trust us, once you try Chukde, there’s no going back.

FAQs

Q. Can I really cook chana without soaking?

Yes! Just pressure cook unsoaked chana with ice and water for 25–30 minutes. Ice helps slow down the temperature rise initially, allowing better hydration during pressure build-up.

Q. What makes Chukde Chana Masala different?

It has a perfect balance of spices, made especially to elevate the taste of chana dishes—rich, robust, and deeply aromatic.

Q. Is this recipe good for weight loss?

Absolutely! Chana is high in protein and fiber, making it a filling and healthy option. Just go easy on the oil.

Q. Can I make this ahead of time?

Yes. In fact, it tastes even better after a few hours in the fridge when all the flavors come together.
