The origin of Rajma Masala can be traced back to the 18th century when a number of Punjabi dishes began to appear on the culinary scene. It was in this period that Rajma Masala became an established part of Punjabi cuisine.

Flavour Profile

Rajma Masala traditionally consists of spices such as garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander, turmeric, garam masala, and chili powder in measured quantities for the perfect taste. All of these spices combine to create a delicious blend of flavors.

Cooking Uses

It’s traditionally used to prepare authentic Punjabi rajma recipes but can also be added to chole and Channa for enhanced flavour.
