5 Dishes to Try This Republic Day For a Blast of Color in your Celebrations!

Celebrating Republic Day is always a special occasion and an opportunity to show your pride for your country. This year, make it extra special by adding a blast of color to your celebrations with some delicious dishes. Whether you're hosting a gathering of family and friends or simply want to indulge in a festive meal, here are five dishes to try this Republic Day that will add vibrancy and flavor to your festivities.

1) Tricolor Idli

If you’re looking for a delicious and nutritious way to add a blast of color to your Republic Day celebrations, look no further than tricolor idli. This South Indian classic is a great way to get the whole family involved in creating a colorful dish that’s sure to be a hit!

To make this tricolor idli, you’ll need three types of dals - red (chana dal), white (urad dal) and green (moong dal). Soak them separately in water overnight and grind them into thick pastes. Then, mix the pastes and add in enough salt to taste. Finally, steam the mixture in an idli cooker and voila – you’ve got yourself some delicious tricolor idlis!

You can serve these idlis with a range of accompaniments such as sambar, chutney or even some tomato ketchup. You can also get creative with toppings such as grated coconut, chopped onions or coriander leaves for added flavor and crunch. Enjoy this yummy tricolor treat as a snack or breakfast item, and have a blast of color at your Republic Day celebrations!

2) Tricolor Rice

For a festive yet delicious treat to make this Republic Day, why not try out tricolor rice? This easy-to-make dish is sure to impress your guests. Start by cooking the rice according to the directions on the package. Once the rice is cooked, divide it into three parts and add a different food color in each part. Once you have three separate colors, mix all the colors together and let it sit for 10 minutes to allow the colors to blend. Once that is done, you can garnish your tricolor rice with fried onions, cashews, and almonds for some added flavor and crunch. Serve your tricolor rice with your favorite accompaniments and enjoy!

3) Tricolor Paneer Tikka

Paneer Tikka is a classic Indian dish that can easily be spiced up and given a patriotic twist for Republic Day celebrations! To make this delicious tricolor dish, start by cubing 250 grams of paneer. Then mix together 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon of red chili powder, 1 teaspoon of garam masala, 1 teaspoon of coriander powder, 1/2 teaspoon of chaat masala and 2 tablespoons of oil. Marinate the paneer cubes in this mixture for at least 15 minutes. Now skewer the paneer cubes onto metal or wooden skewers with alternating red, white and green bell peppers. Grill the skewers over an open flame, or bake in an oven at 200°C for 20 minutes until lightly golden and charred. Serve the tricolor Paneer Tikka hot with some mint chutney and enjoy!

4) Tricolor Sandwich

Nothing says ‘Independence Day’ quite like a tricolor sandwich! If you’re looking for a tasty way to add some color to your Republic Day celebrations, this is the perfect dish for you.

To make this delicious treat, start by taking three slices of your favorite bread and layering them on top of one another. Spread the slices with a thin layer of butter and then start to fill them.

For a classic tricolor sandwich, start with a layer of green chutney and then add a few slices of red capsicum and green capsicum on top. Finally, sprinkle some shredded cheese and add a third slice of buttered bread on top.

Once your sandwich is ready, heat up some oil in a pan and fry the sandwich until it is crispy and golden brown on both sides. Serve hot with some mint-yogurt dip and enjoy!

5) Tricolor Momos

If you're looking for a fun, colorful way to celebrate Republic Day, then look no further than Tricolor Momos. These are sure to be a hit with both kids and adults alike! To make these colorful morsels, you will need three colors of dough: red, green, and white. Start by rolling out each color of dough into thin circles. Place a spoonful of your favorite filling (vegetable, paneer, chicken, etc.) in the center of one of the circles, top it with another circle of dough, and seal the edges with a fork. Repeat this process until you have made momos in all three colors.

Once all your momos are ready, simply steam them in a steamer basket over boiling water until they are cooked through. Serve these delicious Tricolor Momos with your favorite chutney or dipping sauce and enjoy the vibrant colors of Republic Day!
