Shah Jeera or Caraway Seeds are also known as the Royal Cumin Seeds or Black Cumin Seeds due to the similarity in looks to Cumin Seeds. But these seeds are usually darker and sweeter compared to Cumin Seeds. Native to Western Asia, Europe, and Northern Africa these seeds are crescent-shaped and long.

Unlike Sabut Jeera, Shah Jeera has a sweeter flavour with nuttiness and a hint of anise.

Cooking Uses

Shah Jeera is extensively used in Indian cooking for the preparation of various masalas, curries, and tandoori dishes. It also finds its place among various spice blends such as Garam Masala, Chole Masala, and Biryani Masala. It is a very important ingredient for Royal dishes, Biryani and Pulao. For a rich nutty flavor, it's advised to toast the seeds before using them.

The spices are further cleaned and sorted with state-of-the-art machinery which includes Clean O Grader, De Stoner, Gravity Separator, Rare Earth Magnets, and Color Sorter.


We go a step further in our safety measures and clean and sort the spices manually, picking what the machines might have missed.


All our spices pass through ETO Sterilization Plant which controls the microbial load in the spices before packing them.
