Step-by-Step Method
- Drain the soaked dals well. Grind them with the green chilli, Chukde Hing and very little water until you get a smooth, thick batter. Add salt and mix.
- Add the eno mixed with water and stir gently until the batter looks light and slightly frothy.
- Grease a 6-inch round cake tin. Pour the batter in and tap the tin to release air bubbles.
- Steam on medium heat for 18–20 minutes. Let the cake cool completely in the tin.
- Slice the cooled cake horizontally into two layers. Spoon light sugar syrup over both layers (use roughly 3–4 tablespoons per layer).
